Take baby steps
His general message is: Take baby steps! Don’t push yourself or stress yourself over what you don’t know or master yet. Indeed, your relationship with the Qur’an is about quality not quantity.
- Reading the Qur’an: Reading it in your own language is totally fine to start understanding the meaning of its verses. Furthermore, it can give you a spiritual boost.
- The need to pray: Praying in Arabic takes time, and you can use a cheat sheet placed in front of you with the transliteration for the pronunciation until you can memorise it.
- Remember, practise makes perfect; With time, it will become easier.
But Why Do Muslims Insist On Praying in Arabic?
- It is the language of revelation. Hence, we consider the language of the Qur’an sacred, as these are the words of Allah, our creator.
- Moreover, it is said that even for one letter you are trying to learn or pronounce, you will be rewarded.
- The Arabic language is a very rich language.
- Finally, your goal is to maintain a healthy and growing relationship with the Qur’an.
