I am a college female student of Arab origin living in the US. I am confused about marriage. Is it a sin or not recommended to marry a non-Arab husband because that may lead to my children losing the Arab language? I don't mean any racism, God forbids, or indicate that Arabs are better; not at all. I just feel the guilt that my kids may not be able to learn and practice the language of the Quran. In the meantime, marrying a person from our country of origin or even an Arab living in USA might not be that easy. Please guide me to a solution for this dilemma

Answering your question, Dr. Ali Suleiman Ali, PhD in Islamic Studies and a co-founder, Core Scholar, and member of the Board of Trustees of the American Learning Institute for Muslims (ALIM), states:
This question does not need a fatwa but it is a matter of advice. The choice is yours whether to marry a man from country of origin or country of residence.
If this man is a practicing Muslim and has good character and he is the kind of the husband you dream of, then you can go ahead to marry him.
As for Arabic, he can learn from you and your parents.
