Eight Muslim faith schools have been recognized among the top 20 schools in Britain for academic progress in 2019, in the published GCSE league tables for 2019.
Topping the list was Tauheedul Islam Girlsโ High School in the northern town of Blackburn, followed by Eden Boyโs school in Birmingham and the Eden Girlโs School in neighboring Coventry.
Other Muslim schools on the list were Preston Muslim Girlsโ High School, Eden Girlsโ School in Waltham Forest, Eden Girlsโ School in Slough, Bolton Muslim Girlsโ School and Al-Hijrah School in Birmingham.
The list collated every year by the government ranks schools across the country on measures including academic attainment and the percentage of students who stay on for further education.

Tauheedul Islam Girlsโ High School (TIGHS)

โขOne of the best schools in the country for results by students from disadvantaged backgrounds and with low prior achievement from primary school.
โข82% of students from disadvantaged backgrounds achieved a โstrong passโ in English and Maths. Nationally, around a quarter of students achieve this.
โข50% of students with low prior achievement achieved a โstandard passโ in English and Maths. Around one in ten such pupils achieve this nationally.

Eden Boyโs school in Birmingham
โขThe school achieved โProgress 8โ Score of +1.7 โ the second highest value-added score in Britain.
โขGovernment statistics showed that 86% of students at the school achieved a โstrong passโ in English and Maths โ one of the highest amongst non-selective schools, while 98% achieved a โstandard passโ in English and Maths.
โขThe school achieved exceptional first set of GCSE results since opening in 2015.
Eden Girlโs School in Coventry
โขThe school came as the top performing schools in Coventry and Warwickshire, according to GCSE results, released by the Department for Education.
โขThe school โ which has an Outstanding Ofsted rating โ has achieved the third highest score for academic progress in Britain in GCSE performance tables, with a Progress 8 Score of +1.61, which is well above average.โ

Preston Muslim Girlsโ High School (PMGHS)

โขThe school is currently tenth out of 6,489 schools and colleges, including academies and selective schools
โข82.1% of students achieved a pass in English and Maths
โข81% were entered for the English Baccalaureate compared to the national average of 36.5%

Eden Girlsโ School in Waltham Forest
โขThe school achieved โProgress 8โ Score of +1.2 โ one of the highest value-added scores in the country.
โข66% of students achieved a โstrong passโ in English and Maths โ one of the highest amongst non-selective schools. 87% achieved a โstandard passโ in English and Maths.

Eden Girlsโ School in Slough
