Just a short time following promises by Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to welcome refugees into the country, in a very quick reaction to the latest ban placed on refugees by US President Donald Trump, a fatal shooting took place at Quebec City Mosque, killing 5 and injuring many others.

This terrible incident, hitting the Muslim community in particular and the all people of conscience, has been met with condemnations from all corners. Leading scholars and Muslim figures have also expressed their solidarity with the victims and their families and denounced the unjustified act describing it as cowardly and criminal.
