Why Did this US Rap Singer Convert to Islam?

I was born and raised Southern Baptist and later on became a non dominational Christian or a Christian who practices a non domination.

The reason why, not that it was so easy for me to convert to Islam, but one of the reasons why I was able to was because my whole life I’ve been searching for a relationship with God, our creator Allah.

I really never found that in Christianity because Christianity is more focused around who Jesus was and rarely do they talk about our creator God. So I always had some doubts and I didn’t really feel like I was a hundred per cent convinced in the religion with all my heart. So I was always searching for that I never found in Christianity, I didn’t really follow the religion at all.

When I was introduced to Islam is when everything changed. When I was in the university, I took an Arabic class. One day I went to a café to work on my homework for my Arabic class and a guy came up to me and he said: “Is that Arabic?”

I said: “Yes, I’m taking my first semester in Arabic at the university.”

He said: “Would you like some help?”

I said: “Yes sure.”

So he sat with me and he helped me, taught me how to pronounce Arabic letters, Arabic words, corrected my writing, listen to me reading in Arabic… and then he invited me over to sit with his friends.

All of this group of people were Saudi. So I thought: “This great I have people to help me with Arabic homework and this is awesome because it’s really hard.”

So I ended up hanging out these people for like a year. And during this year, they would talk to me about Islam and what I loved about these guys was that they never pushed Islam on me, they never pressured me, they never told me “you’re going to hell if you don’t believe in this…”

They just casually talked to me about Islam. I would ask questions and they would answer, they would tell me things from the Quran.
