The Quba Mosque, located on the outskirts of Medina, Saudi Arabia, holds a special place in Islamic history as the first mosque ever built.
Constructed in 622 CE by the Prophet Muhammad and his companions shortly after their migration (Hijra) from Makkah to Madinah, Quba became a spiritual symbol of the new Muslim community.
According to Islamic tradition, the Prophet personally laid the foundation stones of the mosque, which was originally a simple structure of unbaked clay bricks. Over time, the mosque has been expanded and renovated, but its original significance endures.
