Sheikh Ayman Abdelghani, head of Al-Azhar’s educational institutions, explained that the recitation lasted all day, with each student reciting their memorized portions to a teacher or assistant.
If a student was unable to recite all their memorized portions in one day, they were encouraged to recite as much as they could.
The activities were recorded and shared among students to promote a spirit of competition and encourage wider participation.
