For more than two decades, RIS has played a central role in nurturing Muslim communities across North America.

The convention has consistently provided a space where faith, intellect, and lived experience intersect—allowing attendees to deepen their understanding of Islam while engaging meaningfully with the realities of the modern world.

This year’s convention carries a clear and timely focus: reconnecting with the timeless wisdom of the Prophetic example and applying it to today’s challenges.

The overarching theme centers on the life and message of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), emphasizing compassion, dignity, and mercy as enduring principles for personal and collective growth.

15 Years of Mercy

The program opens with a focus on “1500 Years of Mercy,” launching a series of sessions collectively titled the “Seerah Special: Milestones of Mercy.”

These sessions revisit defining moments in Islamic history—from the first revelation and the Hijra to the Battle of Badr and the Conquest of Makkah—not simply as historical events, but as a practical framework for leadership, resilience, and ethical decision-making in the modern age.

RIS 2025 also places strong emphasis on addressing pressing social and spiritual concerns. The convention’s Critical Conversations sessions explore issues central to healthy families and cohesive communities, offering balanced guidance on faith, identity, and integration.

Topics include maintaining integrity in pluralistic societies, cultivating compassionate homes rooted in Prophetic values, and honoring parents in an era increasingly shaped by individualism.

Leadership development and spiritual resilience form another key pillar of the program.

Sessions dedicated to strengthening belief in times of doubt and translating Prophetic teachings into everyday practice aim to equip attendees with actionable tools for meaningful change—both personally and within the broader society.

The convention features a diverse lineup of globally respected scholars and thinkers, ensuring a rich and well-rounded intellectual experience.

Speakers span a wide range of disciplines, including theology, jurisprudence, psychology, and social thought, reflecting the multifaceted needs of contemporary Muslim communities.

Beyond lectures, RIS is known for its dynamic and immersive atmosphere. The RIS 360 Stage highlights creative expression and performance, while the dedicated Youth Program offers workshops, discussions, and competitions designed by and for young Muslims. These spaces encourage connection, creativity, and leadership development.

The convention experience is further enriched by the Grand Bazaar and the RIS Food Court, which together create a lively marketplace reflecting the cultural and economic diversity of the global Muslim community.

More than an annual gathering, RIS 2025 stands as a reminder that Islam’s spirit is one of mercy, relevance, and hope—urging attendees to carry these values forward into their lives, communities, and the year ahead.
