Celebrating the mosaic of Ottawa’s diversity, Ottawa Muslims and non-Muslims gathered for the 15th annual Harmony iftar dinner on April 6, at the Sir John A MacDonald Building in Ottawa.

“The objective of the annual event is to inspire our communities to care and provide a helping hand to those in need. The smallest act of kindness can inspire individuals to participate and make a lasting impact in someone’s life,” said the volunteer organizing committee.

Founded in 2009, Harmony Iftar has become a fixed event that allows Muslims and non-Muslims to break-fast together during the holy month of Ramadan.
“The event aims to celebrate and champion cultural and religious diversity, proving to everyone that, not only can we peaceful coexist in a pluralistic society, but that we are better and stronger for doing so,” said the organizers.
