Hijab Magnets Anti-Muslim Women Hate

WASHINGTON – An American Muslim broadcasting network released a new video on Tuesday, September 27, to reveal latest hate crimes targeting Muslim women due to their hijab.

The video, titled “Hijab: Expression of Faith, Magnet for Hate”, was released by Islamic Broadcasting Network (IBN).

“As hate crimes against American Muslims reach their highest levels since the aftermath of the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks, the most visible of Muslims are receiving the brunt of the hate, i.e. Muslim women wearing hijab,” the video description reads.

“Although recently we are seeing a spike of major companies involving Muslim women wearing hijab in their campaigns, major work still needs to be done to address the rising Islamophobia and the dangerous hateful consequences of such bigotry,” it added.

The video comes at a hard time for Muslims who have been facing increasing hate crimes triggered by hateful rhetoric in presidential campaign.
