Every year, Muslims around the world anticipate the sighting of the new crescent moon that signifies the official first day of Ramadan.
Making sure they are fully prepared for the holy month, the city of Dearborn is offering a special area for Ramadan food trucks.
The food trucks will help provide food to Muslims observing the fasting month and the community at large.

“Ramadan is a special month for so many Dearborn families,” the city said in a release quoted by Press & Guide.
“That’s why it’s important to ensure the health and safety of those observing Ramadan, including safe dining, travel, and gathering.”
Ramadan is the holiest month in Islamic calendar when Muslims fast from dawn to sunset.
Muslims dedicate their time during the holy month to become closer to Allah through prayer, self-restraint and good deeds.

The holy month is expected to start on Thursday, March 23 this year.
The designated space in the West Downtown area was suggested to ensure late-night activities are smooth and safe.
The decision followed many requests sent by vendors to the city of Dearborn during the month.
Dearborn is the seventh most-populated city in Michigan. It is home to the largest Muslim population in the United States per capita. It also is home to the largest mosque in the United States.
Because of waves of immigration from the Middle East in the late 20th century, the largest ethnic grouping is now composed of descendants of various nationalities of that area: Muslims and Christians from Lebanon and Palestine, as well as immigrants from Syria, Iraq, and Yemen.
