CAIRO – A few days after the announcement of Indian actress Monica’s reversion to Islam, rumors have spread across Indian media claiming that actor Jai has joined a list of Indian celebrities who accepted Islam recently, after photos spotted him inside a mosque.

“Actor Jai was recently spotted praying at a mosque in T Nagar, Chennai,” Times of India reported, posting a photo for the actor putting a skull cap inside a mosque.

“The Vaamanan actor was seen along with music director Yuvan Shankar Raja, who had said that he had a special affection toward the religion.”

The Times is not the first newspaper to publish the photo which spread rumor’s across the actor’s reversion to Islam.

Deccan Chronicle published two photos for the actor inside the same mosque.

The paper noted that the actor was currently involved in shooting a film about Hindu and Muslim marriages.

Similar rumors have been circulated earlier by rejected by actor Jai who denied the news, saying “I haven’t converted to Islam”.

However, the actor’s messenger status reading ‘Alhamdhulillah’ has added fuel to the gossip.

“Jai has been following Islam for the past one year. He had even kept the fast during Ramadan last year. We don’t know the actual reason behind his change of mind,” the TOI reported, quoting a source close to the famous actor.

“All we know is that he has been following the religion and has not officially converted yet. And also, he has not changed his name,” the source added.

If confirmed, Jai’s reversion to Islam would join other Indian celebrities who chose the peaceful religion recently.
