Celebrating the first anniversary, the Muslim owners of a Bradford restaurant and café have donated food to a charity that distributes meals to the homeless.
Kunafa Tea Café & Restaurant owners Abdulrahman Mkia and Anas Al-Halabi opened their business a year ago in August.
The foundation, which distributes food to the needy on a weekly basis, contacted Intouch Foundation and served up meals for people struggling in Bradford on August 16.

“We celebrated our one-year anniversary of the restaurant opening at the start of August and this has been a great way to kick off our second year of business,” Mkia told Telegraph & Argus.
“I’ve known the founders of InTouch for a long time now and it’s an honor to be able to work with them.
“The work they do for this community is truly commendable and as a local business we have a responsibility to support them.”

The restaurant has previously held numerous events to give back to the Bradford community, such as gifting meals to NHS COVID staff on New Year’s Eve and visiting a local care home on Mother’s Day.
“Part of our goal at Kunafa Tea is to lead an ethical business and to have a positive social impact on the community around us that has supported us so much since our opening,” owner Anas said.
“That is why we’ve held events like this in the past and will continue to do so in the future.”
Islam encourages Muslims to treat their neighbors in a gentle way that reflects its true and genuine spirit, as exemplified in its tolerant aspect especially with people of other faiths.
It makes no difference whether the neighbors are Muslim or non-Muslim.
