UK Imam Delivers Free Food to Neighbors

An Imam at a local mosque in Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, led a group of volunteers on Sunday, November 15, to deliver food to neighbors affected by the long shutdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Haseen Jahangir, the imam of Wycombe Mosque, aims to spread positivity during the second coronavirus shutdown.

“It is very important that we ensure that our neighbors have food,” Imam Haseeb Jahangir said, Bucks Free Press reported.

“During this pandemic, many have lost their jobs. We at Wycombe Mosque are doing what we can to help those that need it.”

The imam’s initiative was welcomed by the neighbors who found food parcels at their doors.

“Today many have smiled to see us at the door with food parcels,” the imam said.

“I pray that Allah (God) removes us all from this difficult time and cures those that are ill with this virus”

Sajid Ali vice chairman of Wycombe Mosque added: “If anyone requires any help with prescriptions or if anyone requires a food parcel then do get into contact us at Wycombe Mosque.

“We would be more than happy to help.”

Muslim Help

Muslim groups in different countries have been working tirelessly to provide health equipment to frontline workers.

Loft25 has teamed up with Green Lane Masjid and Community Center to provide 1 million masks to Birmingham.

British Muslim businessman Yousuf Bhaliok donated £200,000 to NHS in March, launching an appeal to raise £1 million.

In April, Masjid Hamzah al-Mahmood Foundation in Minnesota volunteered to sew 1,500 homemade masks for low-risk patients and non-medical staff.

It is essential for Muslims to focus on their principles of charity during a time of global fear.

Who is it that would loan Allah a goodly loan so He may multiply it for him many times over? And it is Allah who withholds and grants abundance, and to Him, you will be returned.” (The Holy Qur’an, 2:245)
