60,000 fans turned Celtic Park into a sea of Palestinian flags to show support for the Palestinian civilians who have been subject to barbaric strikes and bombings by the Israeli army for more than two weeks.
The Green Brigade, a fan group that occupies the north curve of Celtic Park, handed out the flags ahead of the game against Spanish side Atletico Madrid.
A display in the colors of the Palestine flag was also evident in the lower half of the standing section well before kick-off, the BBC reported.

The club issued a plea to supporters earlier on Wednesday after the Green Brigade fans’ group encouraged supporters to “courageously fly the flag for Palestine” amid the escalation of the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip.

Since October 7, Israel has launched thousands of airstrikes on the Gaza Strip, killing more than 6,734 civilians. The number of civilians killed include more than 2,812 children and more than 800 women, according to MoH.
About 1,755 people, including more than 870 children, have been reported missing and may still be under the rubble.
