Fearing for the safety of Muslim worshippers, different mosques across the UK closed their doors for several months after the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.
Many decided to open later with precautionary health measures to prevent the spread of the virus.
Yet, a local mosque has gone a mile further by installing ground-breaking infection control P4 Technology to create a coronavirus-proof environment for prayers, The Telegraph & Argus reported.

The Al Markaz ul Islami in Lidget Green, a mosque and a community hub, has been at the heart of providing support to the community from offering food bank to offering counselling services at Bradford hospitals.
To pay back for the mosque generosity, P4’s Katherine Benson decided to gift the £40,000-worth installation to protect mosque visitors.
“COVID 19 has had a disastrous impact on people’s mental health and spiritual wellbeing,” Mufti Qazi Hassan Razza, founder of Al Markaz ul Islami said.
“This new technology will ensure that we can work towards making our communities feel safe, protected and at greater ease when visiting a place of worship.”
How It Works?
Worshippers arriving at the mosque will have their temperature measures. The system can detect up to 20 people in one second.
People with high temperature will go to ‘quarantine room’ where they will be checked again.
Visitors then will walk through a sanitizing station where sanitizing solutions are sprayed.
At they enter into the main building, air purifies are switched on to keep a safe, clean, COVID-19 environment.
“The technology installed at the Al Markaz provides 4 layers of protection. This includes infection identification, spreading control, air purification and surface disinfection, Katherine Benson of P4 Technology said.
“Our focus is on keeping communities safe, and this fantastic system allows us to do just that. Al Markaz ul Islami was the right choice for us. It so much more than just a mosque, its multi-layer facilities make it the ideal location for this equipment.”
The coronavirus has infected 324,601 and claimed 41,423 lives in the UK as of Sunday morning, according to WorldOmeter.
The virus is especially dangerous to the elderly community and those with compromised immune systems.
Over the past weeks, several mosques across the UK have launched food banks to help the needy during COVID-19 lockdown.
Mosques volunteers delivered thousands of isolation food packs and hygiene kits to vulnerable people over the age of 65.
