A local mosque in Birmingham has joined efforts with an Islamic charity to deliver hundreds of food parcels to struggling families.
“Fantastic project undertaken by our @333mafscouts team who helped produce more than 300 food parcels for the local community in a single day. Thank you @islamicreliefuk @islamicreliefwm for supporting the winter food parcel campaign,” Masjid Al Falaah in Handsworth wrote on Instagram.
“Yet again, a huge effort by Islamic Relief to help those in need during the cost of living crisis.”

Vulnerable families received the parcels on January 22 from the charity service run by the mosque.
The parcels were prepared in cooperation between the mosque and Islamic Relief UK.
As part of our #winter distribution drive, we’re proud to partner with @Masjidalfalaah once again — packing and distributing food packs for vulnerable communities, across #Birmingham.

Homeless Shelter
In addition to food parcels, the mosque also runs a homeless night shelter to “provide a safe, warm and comfortable place for those who have no place to sleep.”
This is not the first effort by Masjid Al-Falaah to help the local community.
In January 2022, Masjid Al Falaah in Handsworth and Green Lane Masjid in Small Heath helped vulnerable families by distributing 1000 food parcels.
The mosque has also cooperated with a security company to help the homeless during Christmas season.
