How often have we listened to an Islamic talk and thought “oh my Dad needs to hear this” or “my friend needs this advice”. Really it is us who needs the advice and to practice it in our own lives. By debating with our family it abandons what the messengers did.
You don’t just invite people to Allah with words, you invite them with your actions. One man grew up in New York in a Muslim family but knew nothing of Islam. Later in life he began to search for God. He starts going to the masjid, praying and becoming more serious about religion. He visited a scholar and explained that he is becoming more serious about Islam but his wife is a Christian, and wanted to know how he can help her. The scholar replied “Don’t tell her anything about Islam just be the best husband you can be and study what type of husband the Prophet (pbuh) was.” Three years pass and He stopped debating with his wife and just lead by example. One day his wife joins him for maghrib prayer! He asks “what happened” and she tells him “I have never seen a husband and father like this, it is so beautiful that this religion can’t be wrong.”
People see how you live your life, use this to call people towards Allah.
