We are in the month of Dhul-Qadah, which is one of the four sacred months in Islam. What are the sacred months in Islam? Check this hadith.
The Prophet (SAW) said: “The year is of 12 months, 4 of which are sacred, and out of these 4, 3 are in succession.” Dhul-Qadah, Dhul-HIjjah and Muharram and the 4th is Rajab.
During the sacred months, the rewards for good deeds are doubled and the punishment for wrongdoings is multiplied. We should refrain from doing bad and increase the goodness in these months.
That doesn’t mean we shouldn’t do good in other months. We should always strive to good and cut out the bad.
Sacred months are sacred for two reasons: 1. Fighting is forbidden in them unless initiated by the enemy. 2. All deeds are multiplied in these four sacred months.
