Do you know that the city of Madinah was known as Yathrib? Yathrib has a negative connotation. It means decreasing. Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) stopped people calling the city Yathrib. It became known as Tayba Madinah, the good city, the city of light.
Even in the most difficult times he would install optimism in the hearts of his Companions. At the time of the Battle of the Trench, when the Muslims were surrounded and only a few of them were left, the Prophet (PBUH) told his Companions that his Ummah will reach to the farthest point East and West.
