Mufti Abdur-Rahman ibn Yusuf explains the hadith: “Verily the world is accursed and accursed is what it contains, except the remembrance of Allāh, that which Allāh loves, and someone with sacred knowledge or someone learning it.” (Tirmidhī, Ibn Māja) We are part of the Dunya but we do not want to be from the accursed. We want to learn! The problem these days is that the Ummah do NOT want to know about knowledge and Islam, many do not even pray!
