Which tattoos can we have as Muslims? What do I do if I have permanent tattoos? How do I remove my tattoos? What if I cannot remove my tattoos?

The body we have is not ours, it is a gift from Allah. Allah gave us this body to use for a few years on earth and then will be turned to dust in the soil. When we realise that our body is entrusted to Allah  and He wants it back, there are things that Allah wants us to do certain things with it. We cannot pierce it anywhere we want. Allah tells us in the Quran “Do not ever throw yourselves into the fire using your own hands”. 

There are some ways to use dyes and such to design your body but there are rulings surrounding it.
