Maybe one of your friends didn’t achieve something like you did. Don’t humiliate people. Whatever job they do will be seen as dignified to Allah.
The notion that you have a better job than anybody else is wrong. We don’t have this attitude with our friends but with family members also. Parents put pressure on their children to be doctors or lawyers and they are not happy if their children chose another career path different to what they want. They see it as lower than their expectations.
Making people feel inferior for the talent that Allah has given them, is wrong. Allah put this talent in them and this inspires them to be something they want to do. That doesn’t mean we shouldn’t aspire for better careers, but there is no need to put people down for following a career choice they choose or may have to do.
Not everyone is college material. Not everyone is good academically. They are better with their hands, fixing things. Not everyone has to take the same path. Having a degree doesn’t automatically earn you respect.
This is not the standard from Allah and Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). We don’t check for people’s job when they stand in the prayer beside for each other. Those who are high in Allah’s eyes are those close to Allah.
