What Muslims call Dawah is a call to Islam. It doesn’t always have to be by giving Islamic lectures. Indeed Dawah has many faces. Dawah is the network of knowledge!
For example you can give dawah by being fair in the name of you religion.
As well, you can help someone learning how to write/pronounce one letter of the Quran.
Finally you can just have good manners and follow the teaching of our Prophet (pbuh).
As Mufti Menk will explain in this video, dawah is forming a bond with people. The link is created by passing on the message of Islam.
He says: “We always ask Allah to bless those who have passed the message down, the ladder … the ladder of time. If we’re not from amongst those, then there’s something wrong.”
In order to illustrate this important principle, Mufti Menk uses an analogy with network marketing (Multi level marketing). With this example in mind, he details how it works with a 100% return for Islamic knowledge. Indeed, Allah told us in His Quran that He multiplies his reward for our good actions.
“The example of those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah is like a seed which grows seven spikes, in each spike is a hundred grains. Allah multiplies His reward for whom He wills, for Allah is vast and knowing”. [Surat Al-Baqarah 2:261]
Consequently once we know about Islam, we have to continue passing on the message. Even by little actions!
Truly, it is like a chain of good actions and of Islamic knowledge.
Thus we are responsible for carrying on and passing onto the next person and the next generation.
“The example of those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah is like a seed which grows seven spikes, in each spike is a hundred grains. Allah multiplies His reward for whom He wills, for Allah is vast and knowing”. [Surat Al-Baqarah 2:261]
