It is true that the company takes its name from Nike, the Greek goddess of victory and the logo is also said to symbolize the wing of this goddess. A Muslim has to avoid wearing anything that bears symbols of disbelief or icons of other convictions. If one has such symbols in his/her clothes or shoes, they need to remove it. `Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) never left anything in his house with crosses but he blotted it out.
