The story and the storytellers have always had a vibrant and sacred history in Black and Islamic culture. Yet, in modern times Muslims – especially Black Muslims have not had many opportunities to shape our own representations on the screen or in media.
Muslim screen writers and film producers Malik Salaam, Malikah Shabazz, and Tobin Adejuma along with Moderator Umm Juwayriyah were live on our Facebook Page discussing Black Muslim representations in Film.
