Saana is an African-American Muslim, born and raised in New York city. She works as a bus driver in Brooklyn.
In Ramadan, Saana would stay awake at night to have suhoor (pre-dawn meal). After finishing her meal, she joins her sister in prayer before getting a short nap; it’s few hours till work time!
In the morning, it’s time to be a bus driver. Saana goes to work while fasting and drives the bus! She takes short breaks to perform her prayers over the day.
By sunset, she breaks her fast while still at work.
This video shows a side of Ramadan in the life of an average Muslim in the US.
