Khaled Siddiq – “The Moon” (Song)

Tala‘ al-Badru ‘Alaynā (Arabic: طلع البدر علينا) is a traditional Islamic song known as nasheed that the Ansar (residents of Madinah) sang for prophet Muhammad (PBUH) upon his arrival at Madinah, to welcome him.

The song is currently over 1450 years old, and one of the oldest in the Islamic culture.

Imagine the day, if Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) came to us..
What would we say?

Chorus:
طَلَعَ الْبَدْرُ عَلَيْنَا Tala‘ al-badru ‘alaynā
مِنْ ثَنِيَاتِ الْوَدَاعْ Min thanīyyātil-wadā‘
وَجَبَ الشُّكْرُ عَليْنَا Wajab al-shukru ‘alaynā
مَادَعَى لِلّٰهِ دَاعْ Mā da‘á lillāhi dā‘

Verse 1:
They sang this song when you came to town
How I wish that you were still around
How I wish that you would show about my door
When I would cry until I tell you how
Tryna follow what you’ve left for me
I’ve been trying so carefully
I know the Lord, He is testing me
to see if I am what I said to be
follow your way and I know I’ll be right
Day in and day out the rest of my life
people, my city, they’re searching for light
Ya Nabi
I will be making it bright now
until the day I die, so-

Verse 2:
tell me, how can I live a life
where I can be right by your side
in Heaven one day, I pray, I pray
Cuz sometimes I get down
And my faith feels so low
I’m rollin’ around of my side of town
Just searching for hope
Oh, but one thing I know
I will hold on your rope
I know the progress feels slow
but it’s the only way to grow
to all my brothers and my sisters
imagine the day, if Rasulullah came to us
What would we say?
