Why is Ayat al-Kursi recited for protection?
Answer
In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
All praise and thanks are due to Allah, and peace and blessings be upon His Messenger.
In this fatwa:
Ayat al-Kursi is recited for protection because we have a narration from Abu Hurayrah about it from Prophet Muhammad to recite it for protection against Shaytan. What makes Ayat al-kursi important and blessed is also the fact that it contains so many names and attributes of Allah. Ayat al-Kursi talks about Allah’s Power and Mighty. The verse tells us that Allah is the Protector and that He is aware of everything.
