The Quran is indeed a beautiful thing to listen to. Is there a line we draw when making the recitation of Quran melodious? Is actually singing the Quran permissible?

In this fatwa:
The Quran is not meant to be sung because singing has its own set of rules. We recite the Quran. As opposed to following notes, we recite the Quran based on points of articulation and rules built into the recitation, in a melodious way.
