During the silent prayers when we don’t recite out loud. Do we have to read the Quran with tajweed?
Answer
In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
All praise and thanks are due to Allah, and peace and blessings be upon His Messenger.
In this fatwa:
- When reciting the Quran, whether it is out loud or even in the silent prayers, we still have to read it in a methodical, respectful and appropriate manner.
- During the silent prayers, we should pronounce each letter of the Quran and give its due right. So, it is not acceptable to read the Quran quickly without proper recitation as long as you master Arabic.
- Converts should do their best to read the Quran as best as they can until they learn more Arabic.
