What are the pillars, obligations and recommended acts of Hajj?
Answer
In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
All praise and thanks are due to Allah, and peace and blessings be upon His Messenger.
In this fatwa:
- The pillars of Hajj are known as ‘arkan‘, the obligations are known as ‘wajibat‘, the recommended matters are known as the ‘sunan’.
- There are 4 pillars of Hajj without which the Hajj is invalid: Ihram, spending some time at Arafah, Tawaf al-Ifadah, and Sai`
- There are seven obligations of hajj which you must do. If you do not do them, you are sinful. You have to offer a sacrifice if you leave an obligation due to a valid reason.
