If you have money saved up for Hajj, do you have to pay Zakah on that?
Answer
In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
All praise and thanks are due to Allah, and peace and blessings be upon His Messenger.
In this fatwa:
Whatever money you have got on zakah date, you have to pay zakah on that. Everything you have in hand, zakah needs to be paid upon it, i.e., what is on your cards, in your current account, in your savings account, hidden money in some random place. All of this needs to be valued and zakah needs to be paid on this amount.
