In this fatwa:
1- Summer is a great opportunity for Muslims of all ages and both sexes to do all sorts of beneficial activities: physical, intellectual, and spiritual.
2- One of the best ways of using the summer is to organize more outdoor dawah activities and educational camps outside where we integrate a three-fold program geared towards building strong Islamic personality.
3- Islam doesn’t limit dawah to a specific place or time. However, one should have strategic plans while making dawah, meaning, one should evaluate the situation and consequences before undertaking dawah work. Furthermore, one should know the priorities of da`wah.
In his response to your question, Sheikh Ahmad Kutty, a senior lecturer and Islamic scholar at the Islamic Institute of Toronto, Ontario, Canada, states:
You may think of a number of dawah activities in summer: Here are a few suggestions
1- Organize some summer camps or courses where learning will be effectively incorporated with play and fun activities that invigorate the body, mind, and soul.
2- Think of some outreach programs in your mosque or Islamic center such as open house or dinners, etc. where the people of the neighborhood will be given an opportunity to experience Islam and Muslims on a personal level. While doing so, plan ahead and give the youth the initiative and leadership roles.
3- Organize educational tours to Muslim countries or past centers of Islamic culture and civilization, where you will be exposing the participants to experience the fruits of Islamic culture.
Allah Almighty knows best.
