Q
My husband of 6 years recently told me that he had cheated on me about 1-2 years ago. We have a young daughter and I just found out that I am pregnant. We have had a rocky, but strong relationship. I am not the sexual type of woman, I mean I do enjoy sex, but being together with my husband once a week is totally enough for me, although I try to force myself to have it more as my husband desires it more. I also have long menses period, which feels like a good break from the pressure of having sex. This is the reason, according to him, that he cheated on me with a girl at work. He said it did start to get emotional & they decided to end it. He also said that he never would have left me for her. On one hand, I feel like I never want to see him again. On the other hand, I feel like a failure. But what could I do when I simply do not desire more sex? And now I am pregnant again. We’re currently separated, it was a mutual decision to do so. What’s next? Do you have any advice? I love him, and I know it was my fault too, but I just cannot look at him. I imagine him being with another woman, I feel like I want to vomit. How can i change myself and how can we move on from this crisis? Your advice is really appreciated!
Number one, if anyone out there has ever experienced being in an affair, the first thing you need to do is not blaming yourself fully. Understtanding why your husband has cheated on you, sister, is not the same as accepting it as an excuse. There is never an excuse for having an affair. And no matter how hard things get, you still have to live up to your dedication and commitment as a married couple. I was very alarmed when you had this in the title of your question that you really believe it is your fault…
