Dear Brothers/Sisters,

Q:
I am 27 years old muslim man , Alhamdulillah Allah has saved me from zina , now i want to get married as i have strong desires , but i want a girl who has also abstained from haram acts as i can’t wrap my head around being with someone who hasn’t been chaste like me , it creates pictures in my mind whenever i think of it , but i also can’t ask someone about their past as it is prohibited , what should i do ?i am really worried about this .Sorry for sounding insecure , i don’t judge anyone about their past , but this really bothers me.
A:
It is a blessing from Allah that you have avoided haram, especially in the modern world where there is so much temptation.
Your desire to have someone who is like yourself is fine. However, you are not supposed to ask details about a person’s past.
My suggestion is to find someone who doesn’t seem like they have done anything in the past, and not ever ask them for any details.
That way, you can assume the best about them, as you should, and you will not have those thoughts.
If you do still have thoughts because you do not know, then you should see a counselor to help you deal with that.

Q:
If Zoroaster wasn’t a Prophet (which i assumed) how did he have knowledge of the divine Revelations?
A:
Anyone can read about different religions and learn about them by reading. This is how people of other faiths learn about these things.

Q:
Can a married daughter hide her inheritance given by deceased father from her husband? I want an Islamic point of view.
A:
First, a daughter will inherit from her deceased father no matter what.
Second, a husband has no right to ask questions about the personal wealth of his wife, and that includes inheritance.
Therefore, there should be no need to hide it, since it is not the right of the husband to ask about it either way.

Q:
Please, can someone continue with their fast after 9 days of finishing their menstruation but due to hormonal imbalance the menses came back while fasting?
I want clarification.
A:
If bleeding resumes after 9 days due to hormonal imbalance, that is probably abnormal bleeding and you continue prayer and fasting after that because it is not menstrual blood, it is abnormal blood.

Q:
My husband has a loan that they got for his family’s house because his dad asked him to. He also knows that it is haram but he says that it’s okay to take loan if you don’t have a house. We did not know this before I married him. How does it impact me and my husband as a family? Will I share the punishment because I live with his salary and does he get a punishment thought he was forced by his dad. Should I search for a job and use that money for our living?
A:
The man is primarily responsible for supporting his wife. So any loan he takes out is on him and not you. He is responsible for those decisions.
If you find out about it, which you did, you should object and let him know that you are fine living a simpler life without any riba involved.
If you do this, you will not be responsible. You do not have to get a job or help him pay off that loan, unless you want to live in a nicer home and help contribute to that.

Q:
Assalamualaikum, my question is whether it is permissible to stake cryptocurrency in Islam? I have seen many videos regarding this, but wanted an expert’s opinion.
The concept is behind proof of stake and that you are rewarded additional crypto coins by providing liquidity. I am concerned this is riba.
A:
Wa alaykum as-salam
Normal staking is like crypto mining. This is not considered riba. However, if there is any riba involved in the transaction, then it would be haram. Research how it works properly before you engage in any transaction.

Q:
Having shirk thoughts about the person i want to marry
I have been having thoughts about a person I love. We both want to marry each other in Sha Allah . Since one month, I have been getting confused that whether I did commit shirk or not. For 2-3 mins, I feel like I cannot defend these thoughts and I gave up. And then I realised that why did i believe in it? Now, there are so many doubts are there in my mind. Everytime there are comparison thoughts and I hate them. He’s a pious person ma Sha Allah. I really want to marry him. I have already repented. I took shahadah and I got to know that when we embrace Islam again after doing shirk , all put previous sins are wiper off. Literally, I am so disturbed. I feel so bad. Now can I marry that person?
A:
It seems to me that these excessive thoughts might be a type of obsessive compulsive disorder. I strongly advise you to see a therapist. These thoughts should not stop you from getting married to him.

Q:
As Salamu Alaykum Hafiz Sahab
I am born to a Muslim Father and a non-muslim mother (not converted). My father and me follow and Practice Islam, My mother follows & practice Hinduism.
When I am looking for marriage match the bride’s family members are not agreeing and don’t want to get their daughter married to me. They don’t want to send their daughter to our house because my mother doesn’t follow Islam.
I request you to guide me in this matter by providing the information in light of Islam. I request you to provide for possible solutions available in light of Islam.
Jazakallah khair.
A:
Wa alaykum as-salam,
It is sad to hear about your situation. I know it can be difficult because it is harder to get married due to this issue.
On the flip side, it is also understandable that people look for good family relationships when considering marriage.
I suggest you consider other options that might work and get you more candidates such as looking into places where people would be okay with this, or perhaps moving out into your own place so they won’t have as much objection to it.
Also remember to keep trying to explain the truth of Islam to your mother and perhaps she may embrace the religion. That would also solve the issue.

Q:
In Islam, what can I do if I try to discipline my kids strictly to avoid haram things but my husband agrees to whatever they say ignoring that we both will be sinful for our kids haram deeds? I tried to make him understand but he doesn’t understand
A:
I suggest you find a good family counselor and learn to compromise so that you can have the most effective parenting for your children. May Allah bless you both.

Q:
What is the ruling on one who slander Prophet Muhammad (SAW)?
A:
I would need further details to understand why you are asking this question. All I can say right now is: you should love our Prophet and never consider saying anything bad against him.

A:

Q:
A little backstory: I’m a 16yr old kid who has hopes of being a pro basketball player (aiming for nba level)but im suffering from alot of issues that i need cleared up asap.
My parents dont give me freedom to practice my religion.I have to hide my prayers everyday and the constant stress has been really bugging me recently.I know that islam gives us ease on these occassions and allows us to pray sitting or lying down but it still stresses me out cause sometimes no one sees me but i still have that fear of what if they walk into me and see me?They caught me once and it became chaos everywhere in the family(only my uncle and grandma support me but my uncle lives 10000 miles away and my grandma has to hide her prayer too)and i dont wanna get caught again.Sometimes this can get frustrating cause i end up losing time and might not be able to hang out with friends or do something else. However this was just to tell you what kind of life i live. The question comes now and its simple.I need to know whether music is haram or not. These past 4 months ive been trying to avoid it but i still dont know the answer.I need to know the answer to this question cause they play music everywhere on these arenas in every league(and even the fans bang drums)and if it is haram i cannot continue with my basketball dream.I also find that music helps cope with stress and it would help cope with the extreme stress that i experience on my life.I have seen answers from you sheikh on this topic but none of them really clarified to me the reason why you think music is halal.Hadith 5590 on bukhari and the other hadith when abu bakr calls the musical instruments of the shaytan keep me in doubt.Hadith 5590 seems to literally say that musical instruments are haram, and i saw an answer of yours that you compared it to photography and images and you said that it is only haram when associated with drinking but it still seems to me that the hadith says that music is haram no matter what.About the other hadith its one where abu bakr scolds a little girl for singing but the prophet says to him to leave the girl alone. In this hadith the prophet according to some scholars doesnt deny that instruments are haram(he affirms according to them)but he just tells abu bakr to leave her alone since its eid.Its been a real burden with me and music these past months sheikh and i need you to please take your time and effort and give me a detailed response about why music is halal and in general to refute the claims of those scholars since i really depend on this ruling.I dont have much time left if i want to go pro since the hard work must start asapOnce again sheikh please give me a detailed response and thank you for the work you do.
A:
May Allah make your situation easy for you. It is difficult practicing Islam when your family is against it, but Allah will definitely reward you even more for your struggle.
As for music, Muslim scholars have differed over its permissibility. First, even the ones who say it is not allowed would not hold you accountable for hearing it in the background at a basketball game or something like that, so you don’t need to worry about it.
Secondly, it seems that you have investigated the issue a little bit.
For more details on the scholars who say it is allowed, read “The Lawful and the Prohibited in Islam” by Shaykh Qaradawi.

Q:
My mother asked me 5years ago before her death to register her house in all her children names. There are 6 of us. Due to the law of this country i could not do this as only four names are allowed. My mum then said. Leave it then as in this country you will get it equally anyway. We have witnesses to this as well. Can we say this was a valid gift to us.
A:
If your mother specifically said that she wanted to gift this house equally to you all then the gift is valid according to Islam even if you were restricted by law from putting all their names on it. Each sibling should agree to divide out the house as a gift if this was the case.

Q:
Assalamu Alaikum,
I have a wife but two daughters from a previous marriage. How should my property and my money be divided amongst them according to Quran when I die? I see that it mentioned 1/8 for my wife and 2/3 for each of my daughters. But how do I put that into percentage to equal 100% all together for all three on my allocation for my Will?
I look forward to your help and thank you so much.
A:
Wa alaykum as salam,
The wife gets 1/8 and both daughters would share 2/3. Since there is some left over, it goes to the daughters.
