Serotonin is a hormone found in our digestive tract, the Central Nervous System (CNS), blood platelets and the Pineal Gland. It is also known as 5-hydroxytryptamine, which is often abbreviated to 5-HT. Serotonin’s chemical formula is C10 H12 N2 O.
It is the path that we don’t want to take that turns out to be the best for us in the long run. It is the flat tire that made us avoid getting involved in a deadly accident or the waitress bringing us the wrong order that allowed us to avoid getting food poisoning that are the blessings.
Such power to change a calamity into a blessing is beyond the reach of those addicted to complaint and discontent, as they prove the most unsuccessful in imbuing their life with a new meaning of happiness when it is taken from them or – more correctly – is not as they like.
In order to attain barakah in life, it stands to reason that a believer should firstly strive to please Allah, in every aspect of it. They should strive to keep their faith pure, and their actions righteous; aiming for sustained, gradual increase in both.
When we are asleep, Allah takes our souls. If death is written for us when we are asleep, we will not wake up. If we can wake up then our souls has been returned. Sleep is a small death. Sleeping is a blessing!
