Advising Each Other: The Islamic Support System

Advising each other is essential for the overall betterment of groups and societies. The Qur’an mentions it as one essential quality of true believers.

As Muslims we should bear in mind that while “advising” to correct someone’s mistake can be helpful and beneficial to the one being advised, it implicates walking a slippery slope since one can cross the lines of mutual respect and get into “condemning” the other person instead.

Rather than being constructive and beneficial, advice, in this case turns into a destructive tool.

In this video, we learn how to make advice a support system that provides loving correction when we are in need of it; a system that corrects our direction once we are off track. Join Imam Hussain Kamani.
