LA CROSSE, Wis. – A spirituality center in La Crosse, Wisconsin, has started a series of community events to create a better understanding of the Muslim community.
“Half of the people in the world are either Muslim or Christian,” Vince Hatt, chair of the La Crosse Area Interfaith Shoulder to Shoulder Network, told WKBT on Friday.
“If we want to have peace in this world, it will depend upon how Christians and Muslims learn how to live together.”
The Franciscan Spirituality Center started a four-week series Thursday night called “My Neighbor is a Muslim.”
The idea is to help people of all faiths learn more about the religion of Islam and the people who practice it.
The first session was held Thursday night, but there are still three more scheduled over the next few weeks.
