LAS VEGAS – American Muslim leaders in Las Vegas, Nevada, have erected billboards across the city valley, sending an out-loud message that Muslims too are making America great with their services to their neighbors and community at large.
“Helping to meet our neighbors’ needs through service is a core principle of Islam,” Imam Fateen Seifullah, the chairman of Al-Maun Neighborly Needs of Las Vegas, CBS Las Vegas reported on Monday 15 May.
“Everyone can help to make America great by working together to solve problems and by showing compassionate concerns for all Americans,” he said.
Three billboards, reading Making America Great with Love, Compassion & Mercy, were erected next to Las Vegas highways.
The billboards remind drivers that American Muslims are making America great, with humble service to meet the needs of their neighbors.
The campaign is sponsored by Al-Maun Neighborly Needs of Las Vegas.
The Muslim charity organization encourages elected officials, faith leaders and the Las Vegas community to “Make America Great” by remaining steadfast in service to humanity.
They believe American wellbeing is best demonstrated through compassionate concern for all.
The motto, making America great again, was adopted by US President Donald Trump during his 2016 election campaign.
After he won election, and amid soaring anti-Muslim attacks, several Muslim groups were working to reach out to the wider community and share stories of American Muslims who were already making America great with their contributions.
