We are warned in the hadith by Bukhari and Muslim about the dangers of showing off our good deeds to other people.
The very first people who will be in front of Allah on the Day of Judgement are those who memorize the Quran, the martyr and those that constantly give up their wealth for the sake of Allah.
Allah will ask them, why did they do the things they did. They will say for the sake of Allah.
He will say they are lying. The reason is because their intention was not pure.
We must remember that Allah knows if we are doing our good deeds through intention or not.
