Do you understand Islam at a deep level?

Some young Muslims say “I love my religion, but I also love my life, especially in the west. I want to live a Muslim lifestyle, and a western lifestyle.

Is there a way that I can live a western-Muslim lifestyle?”

Sister Muslema talked about her personal experience as she grew in knowledge after twelve years as a practicing Muslim when she traveled to Egypt to learn Islam at Al-Azhar and how when she got a deeper understanding of Islam it changed many misconceptions she had.

She gave this talk in Chicago at the MAS-ICNA Convention in December 2015.
