Assalamu alikum, I like many non muslim scientists, i'm a fan Einstein. Is it permissible in islam to be a fan of non muslims.

In the Name of Allah, the All-Merciful, the Mercy-giving

All praise is due to Allah. Peace and blessings be upon His Prophet Muhammad.

A Muslim may like a non-Muslim for any mundane reason such as for being a relative, a spouse, a good neighbor, a respectable scientists, etc.; but as the same time he/she must hate his religion and belief.

Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) loved his uncle Abu Tablib and wished he would become Muslim.

In this regard, the Quran says “Indeed, you cannot guide [all] those whom you love [to Islam]. Rather, it is God [alone] who guides whomever He so wills.” (Al-Qasas 28:56)

A Muslim may marry a Jewish or Christian woman and thus love her as his wife.

The Quran says about marital relationship “And of His [wondrous] signs is that He has created for you, from yourselves, mates, so that you may repose in them. And He has set between you genuine [mutual] love and [tenderhearted] mercy.” (Ar-Rum 30:21)

To love one aspect in a person and hate another is not unusual. Even in the Muslim’s relationship with his/her fellow Muslims, one has to love them all for being Muslims, but still has to hate their bad manners, ill conducts, and sinful acts.

Assalamualaikum ,I am a practicing Muslim from Bangladesh and have been practicing meditation since 2015.This is to let you know that before I started practicing meditation ,I was almost nowhere ,frustrated with my life and heartbroken seeing my parents fighting with each other. However one of my cousins told me to do a course called Quantum Meditation .Upon on her advise I did the course and Alhamdulillah I started seeing the world in a diffrent way ,praising GOD for sending me to this wonderful world. However, after the completion of the course I found some of the Islamic preachers in Bangladesh giving fatwa against Meditation Saying it as Kufr and Shirk thus making me confused .Pls note that I haven't found anything shirk in it but I fear that if there's any slightest element of shirk I would not be forgiven on the day of judgemen By Allah (SWT).But you have to understand my situation as well, I was suffering from Chronic Depression and I think this course was a blessing from Allah (SWT).Its due to this course I started reading Quran by heart and pondering Allah's creation. Therefore ,as you are one of the leading scholars of Islam ,I want you to reflect some knowledge on it.Pls help me as this thing is really distracting me from my regular studies.

Meditation is a broad term that takes in various techniques and practices based on its religious and/or traditional root.It is practiced for different reasons, particularly, for self-relief or as a part of ritual practices in some religions.

Islam urges its followers to practice sorts of meditation that are compatible with its tenets of belief and serve the integrity of Muslim personality.

A Muslim is required to practice introspection of his/her inner self to bring it in line with the injunctions and commands of Allah.

Meditation is also useful for other purposes, such as generating consciousness of death, enhancing concentration during worship.

A Muslims is also required to recite the Quran with mediation and contemplation because it is a real remedy for the soul, as we read in the Quran O humankind! There has come to you [in this Quran] an [inspired] admonition [of imminent Judgment] from your Lord- and a healing for all that is in the [human] breast, as well as guidance [for your salvation], and a mercy for the [well-being of the] believers.” Yunus 10:57)

The main objective in all this is to strengthen one’s relation with Allah and discipline one’s inner self, while inner peace, comfort, and tranquility come as a corollary.

On the other hand, meditation that is related to any religious practices usually comprises of acts, positions and/or chants that mostly contravene Islamic beliefs and teachings.

Therefore, a Muslim has to be cautious enough not to fall in the traps of such imported practices.

A Muslim has to abide by the Islamic method of meditation and to believe that it is enough for his/her well-being.

Assalamu'alaykum. I want an explanation whether we are allowed to like and admire non-Muslim. What I know is that Islam doesn't allow us to like non-Muslim, let alone admire them. But when they have certain qualities such as in poetry, arts, or speech, I tend to like them and admire them. This brings motivation to me. What should I do?

As salaam alaykum. I am a convert and have been Muslim for over 3 years alhamdulillah I hear a lot of conflicting information on very specific queries. Regarding my question for example can I recite ayat al kursi after surah al fatiha or does it need to be a whole surah including all ayah?

Wa `alaykum as-salam wa Rahmatullah wa Barakatuh

First, let me congratulate you for your conversion to Islam and pray to Allah to keep you steadfast on His true path.

According to the majority of scholars, reciting a part of the Quran after surat al-Fatiha in Prayer is recommendable, not obligatory. This part does not have to be a complete surah. Few verses from any surah are enough.

According to a good number of scholars, one verse is even enough if it has a complete and independent meaning, such as the verse of al-kursi (Divine Seat).

Does a grown man of the age of 33 have to circumcise himself in order to pray and fast? He has converted to Islam but is terrified of the surgery. Is he not considered a Muslim man if he is not circumcised?

In the Name of Allah, the All-Merciful, the Mercy-giving

All praise is due to Allah. Peace and blessings be upon His Prophet Muhammad.

The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “Five practices are of the characteristics of al-fitrah (natural disposition): circumcision, shaving the pubic region, clipping the nails, plucking the underarm hair, and trimming the moustache.” (Al-Bukhari and Muslim)

The majority of Muslim scholars hold the opinion that it is obligatory on Muslim males to get circumcised. Imam Abu Hanifah maintains that it is only recommendable.

The opinion of the majority is more preponderant. When circumcision was prescribed for Prophet Abraham (peace be upon him), he circumcised himself, though he was 80 years old.

Accordingly, a Muslim male who is able to get circumcised but neglects it commits a sin by neglecting such an obligation.

Nevertheless, this is a separate obligation that has no effect on one’s belief or other religious obligations such as Fasting and Prayers.

The circumcision surgery has become very simple and many adult Muslim converts have gone through it for the sake of fulfilling this obligation.

I have 2 Qurans one in Arabic and anther in Hindi translation. I heard somewhere that there is certain sequence of placing Quran. If I want to place the two Qurans one above the other so which one is to be placed above and which one to be placed below.

The Quran is only in Arabic. Translations of the Quran are not the Quran but only interpretations of the meaning of the Quran in other languages. This means that the rulings related to the Quranic text (in terms of respectful treatment, the necessity of being ritually clean while touching it, etc.) are only applied to the Arabic version.

Slam alykm. I want to ask about the Moon splitting miracle of prophet Mohammad peace upon him, atheists claim that if the moon split really did happen than everyone would have saw it and it would have been recoded in history by everyone. Not just Muslims history. I need a answer thank you very much

The splitting of the moon was a miracle that Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) showed to the people Mecca after that had asked him to show them a miracle to prove his prophethood.

This incident was reported by a number of the Prophet’s companions as narrated by Al-Bukhari, Muslim, and other collectors of Prophetic traditions.

The rejection of and doubts raised about the incident, as mentioned in the question, are not new. They have been raised long time ago and were handled by scholarly refutations that could be summarized in the following points:

1- It is not true that the incident is not mentioned in other books of history. The incident have been mentioned in some Indian and Persian manuscripts in London’s library, as asserted by some researchers.

2- There are reports that the people of Mecca asked travelers who came back to Mecca after the incident and they affirmed to them that they witnessed it.

3- Even if we accept the claim that no one else over the earth had witnessed it, still this does not mean that it did not take place.

The incident took place at night where most people at that time were either sleeping or inside their homes and thus had no interest in watching the celestial bodies. Even these days, so many times lunar eclipses take place while the majority of people are heedless of and never pay attention to them.

4- In addition, the time for such splitting was so short (perhaps less than one minute) that it could have gone easily unnoticed. This also means that even the very few persons who might have seen it outside Mecca might have thought that the middle area of the moon was shortly concealed by clouds or any other celestial body.

5- If we take the rotation of earth around its axis and the rotation of the moon around the earth, we will come to realize that the moon does not appear but to some parts the of the globe where there is night, while other parts are still in the daylight. This excludes a large number of the inhabitants of the globe from the possibility of witnessing the incident.

6- It is well known the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) faced various challenges and arguments raised by the polytheists, Jews and Christians of his time. There is no report that such enemies of Islam took advantage of this claimed incident to attack the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) or doubt his credibility.

No this is not a troll. This is genuine question because throughout history Polygamy was often practiced. There are some women who are polygamous, and men monogamous. The point is that the man can marry four here and 72 in Jannah. Women dislike this. Why didn't Allah create women to be ok with polygamy in first place? Why did Allah create women to dislike sharing husband? The Mother of Believers had shown jealousy. If polygamy is permitted by Allah, why did Allah create women to be jealous and dislike it ? Is there any wisdom?

Wa `alaykum as-salam wa Rahmatullah wa Barakatuh

In the Name of Allah, the All-Merciful, the Mercy-giving

All praise is due to Allah. Peace and blessings be upon His Prophet Muhammad.

First, as a ruling and law prescribed by the Shari`ah, a Muslim may not raise objection to polygamy or any other Shari`ah ruling or law. Allah (exalted is He) says “And it is not ever for a believing man or a believing woman, when God and His Messenger have decreed a matter, to have for themselves a [contrary] choice in their affairs. For whoever disobeys God and His Messenger has truly strayed into clear misguidance” (Al-Ahzab 33:36)

Submission to Allah’s laws, whether one understands the wisdom behind them or not, is an essential part of being a Muslim.

Second, polygamy is an exception not the rule. A man is required to be just and give each wife her rights in a fair way, which is difficult for many men; otherwise, he has to face the prophetic warning “Whoever has two wives and is inclined to favor one of them over the other will come on the Day of Resurrection with half of his body leaning.”
Third, polygamy has been prescribed to achieve great purposes and solve many social problems.

1) It is the alternative of adultery that has spread in other communities that disallow polygamy as men there look for pleasure outside marriage.

2) It helps decrease the number of unmarried women in the society with all the problems this increasing number causes. 3) It is the solution of the situation when a man comes to hate his first wife but does not want to divorce her and break the family.

These are just few manifestations of the wisdom behind polygamy.

Fourth, at a personal level, a Muslim woman, after being fully pleased with such a divine law, may refuse to be a part of a polygamous relationship. She can even record her refusal in her marriage contract, because she does not have to accept this situation.

Fifth, jealousy is an emotion and feeling that only needs to be channeled in the proper way. It is a test for women to curb this emotion as it is a test for all mankind to curb their desires and emotions and channel them in a way that pleases Allah SWT.

Assalamalekum....unfortunately iam performing homosex with my partner. After I am feeling very bad about it. I am very fearing about Allah while doing this. Please tell me how I ask the forgiveness from Allah?

Brother, this compunction is a good sign. Never feel despaired of repentance. The door of repentance is always there, but you need to keep knocking sincerely until it is open.

Out of His grace, Allah, the All-Merciful, has opened the gate of repentance wide for all those who repent sincerely and earnestly to Him no matter how grave their sins are.

Allah (exalted is He) said, “Say, [O Prophet]: O My servants! Those [of you] who have committed [sins in great] excess against their own souls, never despond of the mercy of God! For, indeed, God forgives sins, one and all. Indeed, it is He [alone] who is the All-Forgiving, the Mercy-Giving.” (Az-Zumar 39:53)

You may need to know the diseases caused by homosexuality which include:

1) AIDS.

2) Viral hepatitis.

  1. Syphilis.
  2. Gonorrhea.
  3. Herpes disease.
  4. Anal bacterial infections.
  5. Typhoid disease.
  6. intestinal worms.
  7. scabies.
  8. pubic lice disease.
  9. Anal cancer virus.
  10. Granulomatous disease of the reproductive lymphatic.

I do not think that any man of a sound mind would like to have any of these diseases.

May Allah grant you repentance and keep you steadfast on His right path.
