#WomensMarch – A Strong Message to Trump on First Day at Office

Tweeting #WomensMarch

On Saturday, millions of people gathered in cities and towns across the world to stand together for human rights and denounce all kinds of prejudice and discrimination.

Men joined women in huge crowds in almost all American states as sister demonstrations also took place in cities across Africa, Asia and Europe.

“We march today for the moral core of this nation, against which our new president is waging a war,” actress America Ferrera told the crowd around Trump’s hotel on Pennsylvania Avenue. “Our dignity, our character, our rights have all been under attack and a platform of hate and division assumed power yesterday. But the president is not America. … We are America and we are here to stay.”

On social media, Women’s march has been the focus of almost everyone; getting more attention than Trump’s inauguration; a strong indication about the American public orientations.

The following tweets give a sense on how the women’s march looked in many cities and what people think of it.
