‪”I feel empowered with my hijab. It is a reminder to walk patiently through this troubled world and seek what is in each other’s hearts, not what they wear on their heads. Like a book, we shouldn’t judge by what’s on the cover.”-Laura, USA . . . . 👉Please take a selfie holding a sign with the hashtag #FreeInHijab. 'Hijab is more than just a piece of cloth for me. At times when I can't concentrate much in salat (prayer) or when I feel like my Iman (faith) is low, my hijab and the way I dress would remind me of who I am. . When I first wore hijab I used to think about why I wore it. Over time, I understood that I wanted to wear it because it represents my beliefs, modesty and that the hijab is my freedom.”-Minnu, Maldives 🇲🇻 . . . . 👉Please take a selfie holding a sign with the hashtag #FreeInHijab. “My name is Whellyda and I'm from Brazil. People always ask me if the hardest part in being a Muslim in Brazil is wearing hijab in the hot weather and I always tell them that it isn't. In fact, dressing modestly even protects me from the sun. The hardest part is the people; their prejudice is what truly oppress me, but I have faith that they will come to understand eventually that Islam is about peace, and hijab is a protection. . My freedom relies on practicing my religion and hijab does not represent a barrier for me in any aspect, except those that others stablish. May the peace and blessings of Allah be upon you.” . . . 👉Please take a selfie holding a sign with the hashtag #FreeInHijab. In caption, tell us how you are free in hijab.
