All praise and thanks are due to Allah, and peace and blessings be upon His Messenger.
In this fatwa:
- The most beloved of colors to the Prophet was white, and he said: “They (white garments) are the best of your garments, so wear them and shroud your dead in them.
In his response to your question, Sheikh Ahmad Kutty, a Senior Lecturer and an Islamic Scholar at the Islamic Institute of Toronto, Ontario, Canada, states:
The Prophet (peace be upon him) ordered us to learn the rites of Hajj from him. We know that he and his companions wore white garments while performing Hajj and Umrah.
Furthermore, the Prophet (peace be upon him) also encouraged us to wear white clothes and shroud our dead ones in them.
Allah Almighty knows best.
