Q What does Allah do with His time?

Answer

Asalamu Alaikum,

Thank you for contacting About Islam with your question.

Dr. Shabir Ally addresses this question in the video below:

Transcript:

Safiyyah Ally: Ok, Dr. Shabir Ally, here is a question from a young viewer. The question is: what does Allah actually do the whole day? Does He sit all day long only looking at us?

Dr. Shabir Ally: The Quran in the 55th chapter of the Quran 29 verse, says {kulla yawmin huwa fee shanin} and every day He is involved in in some matter.

And I understand from this that God is continually, in fact, looking after the affairs of the world.

And He responds to the intentions of his creatures. So, we intend to do something and then He has us doing the very thing.

He is continually molding and evolving the universe moment by moment in fact.

Safiyyah Ally: So, God isn’t sitting by. God is an active of God.

Dr. Shabir Ally: True, true. And of course, we shouldn’t think of God in the way we think of ourselves.

We get bored because we have nothing to do. But God is beyond our imagination. We can’t really think of God in the same way as we think of human beings.

I hope this helps answer your question. Please keep in touch.
