Is It A Muslim’s Duty to Kill Infidels? (Part 4)

09 January, 2017
Q Quran itself was plagiarized from the Torah and the Bible. One single incident will show how Biblical narration is garbled and twisted in the Quran. The Bible says that God told Abraham: "Take away your son, your only son, whom you love, Isaac, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I will tell you." This incident happened several centuries before the birth of Christ. But Quran was written 600 years after the birth of Christ. And it was deliberately twisted by replacing Isaac's name with Ishmael. Is It a Sacred Duty to Kill Infidels in Islam?

Answer

Salam (Peace) Dear Questioner,

Thank you for for contacting About Islam with your question.

Please find part one at the link here, part two here, part three here. Please find part four below. And look for the final part tomorrow.

Terrorism:  the Antithesis of Jihad

Under US law, an “act of terrorism” means any activity that:

Involves a violent act or an act dangerous to human life that is a violation of the criminal laws of the US or any state, or that would be a criminal violation if committed within the jurisdiction of the US or of any state that appears to be intended to:

– intimidate or coerce a civilian population

– to influence the policy of a government by intimidation or coercion or

– to affect the conduct of a government by assassination or kidnapping.

Jihad

Jihad is to be launched by the established and recognized Muslim authority, as a policy of the majority of the Muslims, to deter aggression.

Whereas, terrorism is committed by individuals or clandestine groups that neither represent the majority of Muslims or receive authorization from them.

Jihad is to be declared, while acts of terrorism are born in secrecy and executed as a deadly surprise.

Jihad is limited to combatants who represent a real danger to the Muslim military, while terrorism is usually directed to the soft spots of innocent civilians in a non-discriminatory way.

Jihad is bound to the ceasing of hostilities and accepting peace if the combating enemy inclines to peace, while terrorism is launched against people who are in a state of peace to start with.

Jihad is not Holy War

  • The basis of human relations is peace – war is the bitter exception
  • War is not holy, it is a last and hated resort
  • War is fought against oppressors, who try to force people from their faith or to drive them out of their homes
  • War is limited to combatants
  • Islamic ethics are to be observed
  • Peace is to be accepted even if deception is suspected

When I am faced with this or similar questions, I ask where in the world Muslims are fighting for something that is not theirs. Where is the war of aggression, the war of expansion, the war for strategic resources being waged by Muslims?

Where are the areas of injustice?

  • Philippines, the Tripoli Accord of 1960 gave autonomy to the Muslim (Moro) heartlands but was never implemented. When an accord was reached, the demographic situation had changed so that only 7 (or 9) of the provinces voted for autonomy. Dr. Nur Misauri came back from exile in Saudi Arabia to be the Governor-General of the new region.
  • In Bosnia, Herzegovina the Serbs attacked and the Muslims had no weapons. For example, The Srebrenica massacre, also known as the Srebrenica genocide, there was an arms embargo against the Bosnian Muslims.
  • In Afghanistan, it was first the Russians and now the US/UK who invaded.
  • In Palestine, the land was taken from the Palestinians and given to the Jews.
  • In Kashmir, there was supposed to have been a referendum but the Governor gave the region to India.
  • In Chechnya, the Russians promised autonomy but didn’t give it.
  • In Algeria the FIA, Islamic party, won the first round of democratic elections but were denied the chance to win the second round due to US involvement – meaning the US didn’t want democracy in Algeria.
  • War is not Holy – this seems to be a Christian concept to cover (justify?) the Crusades.
  • The Quran uses the terms harb and qital for war and fighting.
  • Nowhere in the Quran is there an expression which could be translated as Holy War.

Allah says in the Quran:

{O you who believe, stand out firmly for justice and let not your hatred of someone cause you to deviate from what is just.} (Quran 5:8)

{Allah forbids you not, with regard to those who fight you not for your faith, nor drive you out of your homes, from dealing kindly and justly with them: For Allah loves those who are just.} (Quran 60:8)

{O you who believe stand out firmly for justice even as witnesses to Allah, even against yourselves, or your parents, or your kin, and whether it be against the rich or poor: for Allah can best protect both. Follow not the desires (of your hearts), lest you swerve, and if you distort (justice) or decline to do justice, surely Allah is well-acquainted with all that you do.} (Quran 4:135)

The rest of your question will be answered tomorrow.

Salam (Peace).
