How Come Muslim Arabs Mistreat Blacks?

06 March, 2019
Q Hello i believe in one GOD but you guys believe in one God as well but how come Arabs mistreat blacks I want to ask how can Islam have allowed the sale of slaves because Muslims knew what the Europeans would do specifically the East African coast am specifically a muganda a tribe from Uganda but how come Arabs travel inland to raid for slaves to line there pockets with money but first slavery is allowed if they are won through battle or have purchased them from another person , or they refused to believe but YOU come in the dead of night set the forest on fire get a panic going herd the people like animals grab them then sell them to some sadistic foreigners Europeans who stack them in halls of ships which you are watching but hey at list am getting money. Then the same Arab comes telling you about Allah one God but how can God allow that? Your prophet the one who came for the whole of mankind allow that?

Answer

Short Answer: The action of the Arabs you’ve seen represents their own wrong actions. This is not Islam or the total Muslim population, or even the practices of all Arabs. The people who’ve done what you described are most definitely at fault. They will be held accountable on The Day of Judgment before Allah for everything they’ve done.

Part 2

Hello,

Thank you for sending your question.

It is great that you are seeking answers in such an honest and humble way. May Allah (The One & Only God & Creator of the Heavens and the Earth and everything therein) guide you to the Truth and what’s best in this life and the next.

There are two points in your question.

First, the unacceptable actions of the corrupt people you’ve mentioned.

Second, what Islam really say about that.

Let’s deal with both issues.

The Action of A Few Corrupt People Does Not Represent Islam

To directly answer your last two questions:

Does God allow the inhumane treatment of human beings that you described? Absolutely not.

Does Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings upon him) allow that? Absolutely not.

The rule in Islam is, as the Prophet taught:

“There should be neither harming nor reciprocating of harm” [Muwatta Malik]

We will talk in more detail about this issue later in the answer.

But the most important issue here is: Does the action of the Arabs you talked about represent Islam and all Muslims?

Arabs do not represent Islam or the whole Muslim population

Well, you must know that Arabs do not represent Islam or the whole Muslim population.

As a matter of fact, Arabs comprise only around 20 percent of the world’s Muslim population [Georgetown University. Berkley Center for Religion, Peace & World Affairs]

And according to Pew Research Center, nearly two-thirds of Muslims live in the Asia-Pacific region. “More Muslims live in India and Pakistan than in the entire Middle East-North Africa region”. [Pew Research Center. “World’s Muslim population more widespread than you might think“]

So, we can’t take the wrong actions of “some” Arabs and reach the faulty conclusion that this is Islam as a whole and the attitude of all Muslims.

The action of the Arabs you’ve seen represents their own wrong actions. This is not Islam or the total Muslim population, or even the practices of all Arabs.

The people who’ve done what you described are most definitely at fault. They will be held accountable on The Day of Judgment before Allah for everything they’ve done.

Allah Almighty says:

“And never think that Allah is unaware of what the wrongdoers do. He only delays them for a Day when eyes will stare [in horror].” (Quran 14:42)

 And He Almighty says:

“And whoever does an atom’s weight of evil will see it.” (Quran 99: 8)

And the Noble Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings upon him) said:

“Beware of injustice, for injustice will be darkness on the Day of Resurrection; and beware of stinginess because it doomed those who were before you. It incited them to shed blood and treat the unlawful as lawful.”[Related by Muslim]

And Allah knows best.

I hope this helps.

Salam and please keep in touch.
